A Calamares developer, Adriaan DeGroot, fixed the installer bug recently. Since then, efforts have been made to create a basic working installer, resolving issues with /boot/vmlinuz-linux, the basic kernel setup, and changing the default session type from Wayland to X11, which took three days. A basic release is now available for download, although it lacks customizations such as desktop/deskpro/developer installation choices, look-and-feel options, and software updates. The desktop setup is minimal, featuring a top drop-down bar, folder view, and dock. The image file, bslx-6.9.7-8-2024.07.06-x86_64.iso, can be found on SourceForge. Users are advised to run a full system update after installation.
