Tails 5.19

Tails 5.19, released on October 31, 2023, introduces new features, including the ability to close a Tor circuit from the Onion Circuits interface, enabling users to replace slow circuits and troubleshoot network issues. Additionally, the release includes the sq-keyring-linter package, enhancing the cryptographic parameters of PGP keys on airgapped machines for SecureDrop users. Updates include the latest versions of Tor Browser, Tor client, Thunderbird, and the Linux kernel. No specific known issues are reported in this release. Automatic upgrades are available for users with Tails 5.0 or later, and manual upgrades are also possible. For new installations, installation instructions are provided, but it's important to note that installing Tails on a new USB stick will result in the loss of Persistent Storage data. Tails 5.19 creates problems for the touchpads on some laptops. After a string of such incidents when the touchpad of a new laptop became non-functional, I am forced to revert to the 5.18 version
