CarotOS 1.3 'Eggshell'. Five new applications - Carotene (ClamAV-based antivirus), CarotPot (honeypot for the local network), Filenor (file and media converter), CarotOS Former (animated guide to the security tools) and CarotOS GSD (a 161-term bilingual glossary); System Health now runs 23 checks (up from 20) and adds optional detailed scans with debsums and rkhunter; USB Check gained an on-demand ClamAV scan that only reports and never touches files; the welcome wizard has 21 pages; the CarotOS Store catalogue grew from 51 to 153 applications in ten categories.
What's new in this release? New Equestria apps (all available in 10 languages, all follow your character theme): GPU Manager - shows your graphics cards and recommends and installs the right driver; Clock - alarms, timer and stopwatch, keeps working from the system tray; Calendar - moon phases, reminders with repeats, month/week/year views; Notes - notes with images and to-do checkboxes; Calculator; Screen Recorder; Color Picker; Audio/Video Converter - 17 audio formats, trimming, fades, speed, volume, tags, WebM/MKV; Closer - closes frozen windows; Clock and Calendar now open their existing window instead of starting a second copy. Panel and appearance: new panel clock - calendar with week numbers, Equestria Calendar events, other time zones; day and night themes - KDE switches between light and dark automatically; character themes now apply to every Equestria app, with new palettes for each character; one cursor theme for the whole system, native Plasma lock and logout screens.
RefreshOS 3.1 builds on RefreshOS 3.0 'Colorful Cosmos', incorporating updated Debian packages, RefreshOS repository integration, improved package management, and system configuration fixes. Debian 13 updates: updated the underlying Debian 13 'Trixie' system from the original Debian 13.4 build to include updates available through Debian 13.7; installed current Debian package updates and removed obsolete packages and older kernel files as part of the release preparation; updated the system to use Linux kernel 6.12.113for the final ISO build. RefreshOS repository and package management: introduced integration with the official RefreshOS APT repository; established the Stable, Testing and Experimental repository channels for distributing and testing RefreshOS-specific packages; added the refreshos-release package to the RefreshOS 3.1 installation, enabling future updates to RefreshOS branding and system configuration through the package manager....

After extensive testing and polishing, the full ZelixOS Aurora 1.0.0 release is here. It refines our monochrome desktop, updates core tools, and provides a clean Arch Linux foundation. Aurora 1.0.0 is a complete release focused on a polished out-of-the-box desktop, more capable Zelix utilities, and a lightweight foundation that leaves software choices in your hands. A calmer, more consistent workspace: Monochrome KDE Plasma - OLED-friendly dark styling has been retuned with bright accents and more consistent contrast across panels and widgets; a streamlined desktop - default launchers have been cleaned up to keep the initial workspace focused and minimal; 90 curated wallpapers - the Zelix Extras wallpaper collection joins the default minimal wallpaper, ready to choose from desktop settings; updated boot and login themes GRUB, Plymouth, and SDDM carry the Aurora look from boot selection through startup to the login screen.

This release presents the new version 1:10.2p1-2ubuntu3.8 of the secure shell (SSH) server and client Openssh. In addition, among other things, Starbuntu has established a new format of its live image that allows to invoke it directly from GRUB2 menu entry. Moreover, Starbuntu has adjusted the graphics of its GUI programs to the new default Ubuntu font.
The editions we offer with siduction 2026.1.0 are KDE Plasma 6.7.4, Xfce 4.20, X.Org and NOX. Unfortunately, GNOME, MATE and Cinnamon did not make it into the selection because there are no maintainers for them within siduction. If you are interested or know someone who might be, please get in touch. Perhaps they will return one day. Of course, they can still be installed from the repository. LXQt is currently not in a release-ready state. We will provide it later once it is ready for release. The released siduction 2026.1.0 images are snapshots of Debian Unstable from October 18, 2026. They include several useful packages and scripts, a Calamares-based installer, a substantially revised CLI installer, and a customized version of Linux kernel 7.2.11, while systemd is at version 262.1.

This edition is not about making a smaller imitation of something else. It is about making a desktop that belongs to Essora. Essora Eos SonicDE combines a capable Qt6 desktop with a deliberately selected set of Essora tools, including a lighter alternative to Dolphin and an optional, configurable drive-icon layer.
