Raspberry Pi OS 2025-05-06

Released 2025-05-07

We've installed a modified version of the swaylock screen locking application. Anyone who has used swaylock will be familiar with its somewhat minimal interface – when you lock the screen, you just get a completely white screen with no indication of what has happened or what you need to do. We felt this was a bit unhelpful, so we've added a custom frontend which gives a bit more feedback as to what is happening and what you need to do to unlock it again. You can now lock the screen by pressing Ctrl-Alt-L, or by choosing 'Shutdown' from the main menu and selecting 'Lock Screen' in the dialog. You'll then see the lock screen, with a password entry box.
