Nitrux 2.8.1

Uri Herrera announced the highly anticipated release of Nitrux 2.8.1, the latest monthly update of the Debian-based GNU/Linux distribution. This version brings significant enhancements, including the adoption of the Linux 6.3 kernel series, the Plasma Wayland session as the default, and the latest KDE software such as Plasma 5.27.5, Frameworks 5.106, and Gear 23.04.1. Notably, Plasma Wayland has been a key focus, with efforts made to ensure optimal performance and compatibility. To address font rendering issues, the developers have incorporated xdg-desktop-portal-gnome, particularly for Flatpak apps. Users with NVIDIA graphics cards will have a traditional dock configured through Plasma panels, while those using Mesa drivers will have the Latte Dock. Additional features in Nitrux 2.8.1 include Btrfs partition management, Hyper-V support, LFS extension for Git, pre-release Mesa 23.2, Industrial I/O subsystem proxy to D-Bus, and various system services and utilities like AppArmor, DNSCrypt-Proxy 2, Tor, AIDE, and Rsyslog.
