The Debian project has released the seventh update for its stable distribution, Debian 12 "Bookworm," on August 31, 2024. This update primarily addresses security vulnerabilities and corrects serious issues in the system, but it is not a new version of Debian 12. Users who regularly update their packages from Debian’s security repositories will notice minimal changes. Additionally, those using Secure Boot with other operating systems should be cautious, as the update includes shim 15.8, which revokes older signatures, potentially affecting the bootability of other systems. New installation images will soon be available, and users can update their systems via Debian's mirrors.
