Several enhancements and fixes have been made to OBS/GStreamer, including the addition of AV1 support through patches in GStreamer 1.22, functional AV1 support for OBS-vaapi and AMF, and Mesa 23.1.3 built on LLVM 15. The Nobara Package Manager/yumex now supports managing flatpaks and provides a cleaner upgrade experience by removing overridden packages from the upgrade list. The "Update System" button has been introduced for easy system updates. Furthermore, various application-specific improvements have been made, such as patching Blender to resolve rendering issues under Wayland, enabling executing files as an administrator within Nautilus, and updating flatpak repositories. The Davinci Resolve wizard has also been added to the Nobara welcome app as an optional step. The AV1 changes were not backported to Nobara 37 due to the requirement of FFmpeg 6.0, which would necessitate rebuilding and maintaining numerous dependent packages. Similarly, the Davinci Resolve change was not backported as the issue stemmed from an update in glib2, which affected the newer version but not the older version present in Nobara 37.

Univention Management Console Server and Web Server are now merged into a single program and the implementation uses Tornado instead of the UCS specific Python Notifier. The integration of Keycloak has been improved for operation with accessibility from the Internet, for outgoing passwords and for the migration of existing SimpleSAMLPHP based connections. At radius it is now possible to add the user name mailPrimaryAddress to register, which guarantees more flexibility when registering. Samba has been updated to version 4.18.3. The latest version of Samba contains numerous optimizations that lead to improved performance. Upstream maintenance is also ensured by using the latest Samba version.

Following the release of Debian 12 'Bookworm', SysLinuxOS 12 is now available with several enhancements and new features that set it apart from Debian 12. Some of these improvements are under the hood, providing additional functionality. SysLinuxOS 12 comes with the MATE desktop environment as the primary option, while the version with GNOME will be released later. In terms of aesthetics, two Conky widgets have been integrated; they not only enhance the desktop's visual appeal but also provide useful information about PC performance, network status (including private and public IP addresses), and running processes. Additionally, the menu has been reorganized based on the utility of the programs. A new menu called Networking has been introduced, which includes tools for network analysis. These tools are primarily GUI-based, while command-line alternatives are also available. MATE offers a simple, organized and fast desktop environment.
Plamo 8.1 has been released. Despite the recent release of version 8.0, this update addresses the issue of startup failures on new hardware when using the installer. The key differences between 8.0 and 8.1 include updates to the installer's firmware and the linux_firmware package, as well as updates to other packages released up until version 8.1. For those who have already installed version 8.0, simply updating the packages using the 'get_pkginfo' command will bring them up to the equivalent of 8.1, eliminating the need for a reinstallation.
