Skycatcher 2.1 introduces a broad set of quality-of-life improvements and system refinements across the entire platform. The update brings a new official CuerdOS repository, an updated 6.18.9 kernel, and better CPU and network buffer management, alongside an enhanced UFW firewall enabled by default. Desktop environments receive major cleanup and modernization: KDE gains a refreshed look with an olive accent color, a custom splash screen, OnlyOffice by default, and removal of redundant apps, while Sway and other Wayland components see upgraded tools, a modernized Waybar, and new replacements like GtkLock and Fastcompmgr. X11 is reinstated due to Nvidia and remote-session issues, with KDE’s X11 session removed to streamline support. Additional updates include multiple application replacements for consistency, improved performance in CuerdTools—now native on Wayland—and the resolution of 124 security vulnerabilities.
