AlmaLinux 10 “Kitten”

AlmaLinux OS has announced the introduction of AlmaLinux OS Kitten 10, a preview of the upcoming AlmaLinux OS 10, built from CentOS Stream 10. This release is a proactive effort to ensure a seamless transition to AlmaLinux 10 and maintain compatibility with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Notably, Kitten re-enables frame pointers for enhanced system profiling, includes x86-64-v2 support for older hardware, and restores SPICE and KVM for IBM POWER. Additionally, traditional RPM packages for Firefox and Thunderbird remain available despite RHEL's switch to Flatpak. This release is aimed at fostering community engagement and transparency during AlmaLinux's development process.
