Linux Lite 8.2 final is now available for download. This is considered a minor release featuring Linux kernel 7.3. Over the 8.0 series the Linux Lite kernel advanced through mainline 7.x to 7.3, built from the kernel.org mainline tarball (GPG-verified) plus a curated CachyOS patch subset. Two flavours - 'linuxlite' (desktop, mitigations on) and 'linuxlite-gaming' (mitigations off with ORC and BORE scheduler on 7.3). NVIDIA proprietary support on the mainline kernel via the 'linuxlite-nvidia-kernel-patch package'. Rebrand the installer for the 8.2 release. Fix encrypted installs failing at the very end with 'Could not close encrypted partition on the target system'. With 0110 the install now runs to completion - grub-install succeeds and the crypttab/initramfs are written, but the umount job calls 'cryptsetup close' on the encrypted swap mapper without first running 'swapoff', so the still-active swap device is busy and Calamares reports the whole install as failed even though the on-disk system is complete and bootable.
