JatayuOS is a free Linux distribution developed in India for everyday computing, learning and work. It is based on Debian 13 “Trixie” and uses the KDE Plasma desktop. Our first public release, JatayuOS 1.0 (Udaan), was released on 13 October 2026 for 64-bit Intel and AMD computers. Alongside familiar applications such as Firefox and LibreOffice, it includes Jatayu Tools and a welcome app called Aarambh to help users get started. Users can try the live USB before installing, and installation does not require an internet connection.
