Grandpa Texstar, the mastermind behind PCLinuxOS, has rolled out updated installation media for PCLinuxOS 2024.04, marking the final releases featuring KDE Plasma 5 before the transition to KDE Plasma 6 with Wayland in subsequent updates. The new ISOs boast Kernel 6.6.25, introduce the Pipewire Sound Server replacing Pulseaudio, and include updated versions of KDE Plasma Frameworks, KDE Plasma, KDE Applications, Mate Desktop, and XFCE Desktop. Users can access the ISOs from various mirrors listed. Additionally, ISOs with the 6.1.84 kernel, suitable for older computers, are available for limited download.
